Union Pacific today announced it is consolidating its Wichita Service Unit management with its Kansas City, Fort Worth and North Little Rock service units effective May 1. Three management positions will be reassigned to other locations as the company continues aligning operations to meet customer demands amid marketplace shifts.
Cliff Bowman has been named superintendent-Transportation Services, Livonia Service Unit, responsible for safe operations across more than 800 track miles in Louisiana and Texas. Bowman, who has spent the majority of his 23-year career in the Southern Region, currently is superintendent-Transportation Services, Wichita Service Unit. He succeeds Jamal Chappell, who has taken a Harriman Dispatching Center assignment.
The Wichita Service Unit's transportation, engineering, mechanical, maintenance and other operations necessary to continue running a safe and efficient railroad will remain in place.
